RCCGB Website Waffle !
Hello Everyone and welcome to Website Waffle - September 2009 !!
As regular readers will know the main aim of this page, which I have called "Website Waffle", is a space for me to keep you informed of developments on the website which can include updates, new features, usage statistics and anything else I think is relevant.
The new look website was launched on 09 October 2008, and featured all new code and a brand new look and feel. Now approaching it's 1st anniversary since going live, I have had nothing but great feedback from everyone that I have spoken to at club trips and online. So thank you everyone for the positive feedback because including the redesign from scratch last year, I have spent about 300 hours of my time getting the site to where it is today - so the fact that people like it totally justifies my time doing it. I won't stop here though, and will keep on developing the site so it really does the club justice, as websites are now the number one place people go to research things these days.
So whats new on the website... well recent updates include a News page which hopefully will inform people of any major club announcements as not everyone uses the forum, and also a new Discounts & Offers page under the Miscellaneous menu. I have added some buttons on the homepage to help people stay connected with us via a couple of social networking sites where we as the RCCGB have a presence. I have also tweaked the way that I show the latest updates. The main updates of interest will be posted on the homepage with a link to the article, but you can still check here for all the updates which may not be detailed on the homepage.
What's coming soon? Well by the time I next update this, we will have had a couple of club trips. The meet in the park event and Loopathon should be done - so reports from those should be online. I am currently working on the 2010 Trips page, so that will be online very soon. Watch out for our seasonal graphics during Halloween, Bonfire Night and again at Christmas.
