USA 2011 - Shake, Rattler & Roll Day 9 - Sunday 12th June 2011 Trip Report from Alabama Adventure

Day 9 of our Shake Rattler and Roll Trip and it's the turn of Alabama Adventure. We were on the coach at 9AM with the luggage after another hot breakfast, we're being spoilt in the Drury Inn's we've been stopping in! It was a short drive to the park and soon we were in and being walked up to their woodie, a Custom Coasters International coaster similar layout to Megafobia in Oakwood although a lot bigger in size, length and speed! We had an hour's ERS on the coaster and my first ride on the coaster was in the front seat and it didn't disappoint. It was flying and the coaster had a strange ending, after coming into the break run it carried on and had a mini element finishing with a drop into the station. As usual during an ERS everyone changed seats to experience the different parts of the train and how they performed. When the ERS was over we took over their kiddie ride Marvel Mania, we had a few trains go out full with club members and one train with just one member in, good old Colin!

After the take-over was over it was off to their Vekoma Boomerang ride, Zoomerang for another take over. After the coasters had been taken in we chilled out for a short while as it was so hot and humid before exploring more of the park, however 2 members decided to break the club's record on how many consecutive times they could ride the Boomerang. The record of 12 consecutive times was achieved at The Great Escape and they went to do 13 rides, however Matt Walker and Adam King went for 13 and then more than doubled the record, Bring on another Boomerang for another record attempt at repeat riding!

Some members went onto the wet rides including their new for 2011 ride Buzzaw Falls. There was no lunch in the park today so we could eat wherever we wanted to and the first soft serve ice cream was found. Anyhow we had to be on the coach for 3PM for our 3 hour drive to Atlanta, we have lost an hour as we have reverted to Eastern Time which is only 5 hours behind the UK. En-route to tonight's hotel we passed tomorrow's park, having been given the itinery for tomorrow it is going to be a very busy day so not sure if we'll get tomorrow's report up in time.
