USA 2010 - The Hot Tracks Tour

Day 5 - Thursday 29th July 2010

Trip Report from Cedar Point

Group Photo

Day 5 of The Hot Tracks Tour and we enter Cedar Point, America's Rock 'N' Roller Coast. The day started early at 7.15AM but luckily we are in the same hotel tonight so no luggage! On arrival at the park we posed for a group photo before heading over to Maverick for our first of 4 ERS's. For the second day ruuning we were all issued with a wristband for unlimited soft drinks. Each of our ERS's was half an hour. After Maverick we headed over to Top Thrill Dragster for our last ERS of the morning. Many of us were hoping for a rollback but they were only loading a few people at a time in each car so they flew over the top. I don't think there was a rollback in the park at all during the day.

Then we all had time to check out the park's other coasters including Magnum XL-200 which didn't disappoint, the ride was running without the trims on! Next it was over to the first woodie of the day, Mean Streak, Ryan was in his element having ridden this ride on every visit to the park. A lot of members were on their first visit to Cedar Point so they had a lot to do to get all the coasters in. There was a Charity event going on, on the Gemini so disappointment for the tickers as only one side was open. Some members checked out many of the available shows in the park. At 12.00PM we all met up in the Coral Courtyard for our lunch and the park took another group photo which they said they'd e-mail to us all.

Maverick ERS

After lunch it was back into the park to resume our riding. Some of us took in some non-coaster rides as they didn't have a queue including Cadillac Cars & Cedar Downs. Blue Streak was also running very well. Some of our members got absolutely soaked on the park's new ride for 2010 "Soak The Rapids" At 10PM we gathered in The Iron Dragon Midway for The Hot Summer Nights Fire Up The Night presentation before heading over to Magnum XL-200 for the first of our 2 dark ERS's. Again Magnum didn't disappoint as the trims were switched off for some of the rides. Then it was off to my favourite coaster in the park, Millennium Force for the last of our ERS's. This ride was flying and everyone enjoyed riding it. After the ERS's we gathered in a circle outside the ride for the traditional end of tour celebration as Cedar Point was the last official park. We started with the Hokey Cokey then got Ashley & Jess in the middle, as you guessed it Nev soon shouted "GROUP HUG!!" Great fun and a great end to the day. After a short journey to our hotel some of us chilled out in the pool bar of the hotel next door to ours, Kelsey dared Dan to jump into the pool fully clothed and you guessed it, he obliged, another photo for the yearbook! Soon afterwards we all retired to our rooms in readiness for the surprise track.

Please Note: All on ride photographs were taken WITH PERMISSION of the theme park and ride management. Under no circumstances should any member of the public or club member attempt to take photographs on rides without express permission from the theme park. Safety comes first - follow the rules!
