USA 2010 - The Hot Tracks TourDay 3 - Tuesday 27th July 2010Trip Report from Holiday World |
Day 3 of the Hot Tracks Tour and we were greeted with the picture of Dennis & Sylvia as the saved background picture on the hotel's computer, time for an RCCGB Tradition, Picture in Picture and Ryan duly obliged. Next it was off to Holiday World where we changed time zones. On arrival at the park we took a group photo at the welcome sign they placed for us. Shortly afterwards we were walked over to The Voyage . through the structures of The Raven & The Legend. As there were many members on the trip that hadn't visited Holiday World before they were in for a treat as it's a great out of control coaster. It didn't disappoint and after the turnaround started to speed up on the triple down. Some members managed 2 rides as the public soon arrived but those that only got one had a great experience.
Then it was off to Pilgrims Plunge to try out this new ride for us. The great thing here is everyone gets wet but not everyone gets soaked on the ride. Unfortunately The Legend wasn't running due to a gearbox failure (Steel Element!) but the rest of the rides were running well. At 10.30AM Splashin' Safari opened and so it was off to Wildebeast to try out their LIM launched out of control dingy water ride, great fun. As time was upon us we had to break from Splashin' Safari and head over to Kringle's Banquet Hall for our lunch.
We were joined here by Holidog and some members had their photo's taken with him. With lunch finished it was back into the water park to have a dip in the wave pool and a circuit of the lazy river. Back into the main park it was time for some more riding. Some members got some extra goes on The Voyage and some opted for the park's first woodie, The Raven. Queues had been high for this coaster for most of the day but soon got far less when The High Dive Theatre was performing. Lastly before joining the coach's for our journey to our next hotel it was time to pick up the theme park merchandise. This journey was a bit different from the rest as we were playing Bingo for prizes of $5 and upwards. Having arrived at the hotel everyone went their seperate ways for a meal and refreshments. Most opted for for the pub next door to our hotel for an evening meal and refreshments. Then it was off to bed to get recharged for the day ahead at Kings Island which we were told is only a few miles from the hotel we are staying at.
Please Note: All on ride photographs were taken WITH PERMISSION of the theme park and ride management. Under no circumstances should any member of the public or club member attempt to take photographs on rides without express permission from the theme park. Safety comes first - follow the rules!
