USA 2010 - The Hot Tracks Tour

Day 2 - Monday 26th July 2010

Trip Report from Indiana Beach

Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain ERS

Day 2 of the Hot Tracks Tour started at 8AM when we boarded the coaches for our short journey to Indiana Beach. Having arrived we were issued with our wristbands before entering the park for a combined 90 minute ERS on Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, Cornball Express & The Hoosier Hurricane.

A lot of the group stopped at The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain for their first ride of the day. Initially the ride had 2 cars on but shortly after the start of our ERS they decided to only run with 1 car and took the other one off. Having ridden backwards for my first ride I went on again and rode facing forwards and was I in for a treat. Dennis & Sylvia Bloor were facing backwards in my car and Sylvia kept screaming, it was so fuuny and even better, I had captured one of these moments for everyone to share! This is a great little ride, unique and a CCI woodie!

Hoosier Hurricane ERS

Next it was off to the Cornball Express to get some great "Airtime" before heading over to The Hoosier Hurricane for the final coaster in our triple ERS on wood! After the ERS a lot of members queued for Indiana Beach's new ride Steel Hawg which is the same as Flamingoland's Mumbo Jumbo, a large proportion of the group hadn't been to Flamingoland so this ride was totally new to them and even the woodie fans enjoyed the experience. There was no lunch in the park today but many of us visited the restaurant. Dan Ould ate half a spoon of Chilli flakes immediately followed by squeals and some face pulling. It was so funny that even the kitchen staff came in to the restaurant to have a laugh. Ryan got ID'd for Alcohol and he forgot his passport! but did get served. Some members tried their skills at Jet Skiing and using the Power Boats on Lake Shafer, not sure if anyone got a speeding offence this year! Plently more to do in the park, Frankenstein's Castle, the smaller steelies, the cable cars, big wheel. At 4.30PM it was time to leave the park heading to our next hotel and for the high rollers amongst us, a couple of hours in the Casino, can't wait for Day 3.
